ABOUT UGANDA

Uganda is uniquely located in the tropics and crossed by the great “EQUATOR” and amazingly the equator can be crossed twice while looking in the same direction!. In fact Uganda is one of the 15 countries in the world and one of the only 6 African countries that are crossed by the Equator. Uganda is fortified by two high mountains; to the West the Block Mt Rwenzoris (the Mountains of the Moon) with its highest snow-capped peak – the Margerita at an elevation of 5,109 meters (16,763ft) above sea level and to the East the Volcanic Elgon with the biggest Caldera in the world! and with highest peak (the Wagagai) reaching 4,321 meters (12,963ft) above sea level.
